Not a bad morning’s work.

Well the weather seems to be on the turn so here’s a post looking back on warmer sunny days and a bit of pick your own.

Having done a few walks out foraging in hedgerows and the like pick your own at Malt Kiln Farm seemed almost like cheating, but still a very enjoyable way to spend a sunny morning. Let’s not forget also no better way of knowing where your ingredients came from than seeing them growing and plucking them off the bush yourself (See also Key Principles)

A key lesson learned to avoid nibbling as you pick, have one of their enormous breakfasts in the cafe beforehand!…. and take some time to adjust your eyes to each new challenge, spotting good corn takes a while after looking for blackcurrants.
