A bit of a grandiose post title but people will want to know what they’re getting so here are some musings from our various discussions.

Well the tag line for the business cards is “Quality Homemade Products” and that’s exactly it, I’m hoping to avoid words like artisan or bespoke. Our aim is to make good quality, traditional goods that we love to use and eat ourselves.

Ingredients

  • Locally sourced – Where raw ingredients are practically available locally we’ll aim to use them, and you should find it mentioned in the product descriptions. However with Marmalade for example you’ll have noticed Coventry and Warwickshire isn’t known for it’s orange groves.
  • Local businesses  – If we can get the fresh raw ingredients from growers locally we will (e.g. PYO), if not we’re keen to support local businesses who provide great support for us in sourcing what we need (e.g. Local greengrocers).

Production

  • Hand Made – Means exactly what it says, products are made using traditional methods in our own small kitchen where we don’t have space for large specialist equipment (much as Lisa likes her kitchen gadgets). So think pots, pans, wooden spoons and funnels not stainless steel and paddle mixers.
  • Small Batches – Each batch of produce is made with the ingredients available at the time yielding 5 to 20 jars at a time meaning things are always fresh, giving the best possible results. This may result in slight variations between batches depending on the fruits and raw ingredients available at the time.

Cost

No bullet points for this one, each batch is individually priced based on the price of the individual ingredients.
(I’ve worked out we need to sell 60,000 jars a month to do this full time which I don’t see happening any time soon!)

So there we have it, any questions please drop us a line using the contact form available from the menu above.
