Sheep & Lambs near Napton
I’m not sure this post will be very product related (although the Raspberry Bakewell mentioned below is finally available to buy online! and as well as some of our cakes & bakes being available at the café in The Cat in the Hat you can also find these plus jams & chutneys stocked at new grocers “Turnips” in Binley Woods but more on that later perhaps!).
I ventured down some new lanes cycling last weekend and whilst the gated road was a little trying the sight of many little lambs playing in the setting sun reminded me that spring definitely has come (and is probably nearly over). All around us plants are literally springing into life, the grass needs mowing and generally things are looking up for a new season of fresh produce and foraging!
My current want is to find a good local patch of wild garlic to experiment with some new stuff or I did see a recipe for pickling the helicopter seeds we all played with as kids! I recall a good amount of wild garlic around Grassmere in the Lake District but it seems a long way to do, so if you spot any more locally let me know!
